PNP AT THE “GREEN BUILDING MATERIALS – THE PATH TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT” SEMINAR: WHEN GREEN TRANSFORMATION IS NO LONGER A CHOICE

On May 5, 2026, Phuong Nam Panel (PNP) had the opportunity to participate in the seminar titled “Green Building Materials – The Path to Sustainable Development”, organized by Construction Newspaper in Hanoi.

The event brought together government representatives, leading industry experts, and building material manufacturers to discuss the future of construction materials in an era increasingly focused on energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and resource optimization.

Throughout the seminar, speakers emphasized that green building materials are no longer merely a long-term trend but have become an essential requirement for modern construction projects, particularly in industrial, logistics, and infrastructure developments.Toàn cảnh phiên thảo luận

The panel discussion featured prominent industry representatives, including Mr. Le Quang Hung, Former Deputy Minister of Construction and Chairman of the Vietnam Concrete Association; Mr. Le Van Ke, Deputy Director General of the Department of Science, Technology, Environment and Building Materials; Mr. Phan Dang Son, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Architects; Mr. Nguyen Canh Hong, CEO of Eurowindow JSC; and Mr. Duong Van Tu, Northern Sales Director of Phuong Nam Insulation Co., Ltd. (PNP).

Representing PNP, Mr. Duong Van Tu shared:

“We do not view green transformation as a challenge, but rather as an opportunity to restructure the entire value chain—from raw materials and manufacturing technology to market engagement strategies.”

To support this vision, PNP has proactively invested in energy-efficient manufacturing technologies and emission reduction initiatives while developing environmentally friendly insulated and acoustic panel solutions designed to enhance building performance and operational efficiency. This approach aligns with the company's brand positioning as a provider of green, efficient, and cost-effective building material solutions.

Despite the growing momentum of sustainable construction, the transition toward greener building materials continues to face challenges, including high initial investment costs, dependence on imported technologies, and varying levels of market awareness.

According to Mr. Tu:

“The biggest challenge today is not technology itself, but the lack of alignment between policy frameworks, market readiness, and public awareness.”

Based on practical industry experience, PNP believes that broader adoption of green building materials will require a comprehensive system of standards, implementation mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks that are clear, consistent, and actionable. Only when policy, market demand, and industry awareness are effectively aligned can green building materials fully realize their role in creating long-term value and sustainable performance for modern construction projects.
