The Vietfish 2024 International Fisheries Exhibition, held from August 21 to August 23, 2024, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, is a key event for both Vietnam’s and the global fisheries industry. With the participation of 280 businesses and nearly 500 booths from 15 countries and territories, Vietfish 2024 promises to be an essential platform, offering many growth opportunities for industry enterprises. In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Phung Duc Tien, emphasized the importance of the fisheries sector to Vietnam's economy and affirmed Vietnam’s position on the global fisheries map. With an estimated total fisheries output of 5.226 million tons in the first seven months of 2024, a 2.6% increase compared to the same period last year, and seafood export value reaching 5.29 billion USD, a 7.3% increase over 2023, Vietfish 2024 is expected to continue the successes of the past 25 years and enhance the value of Vietnamese seafood in the international market.
